Jurong Fishery Port, Hong Lim Market & Food Centre & a Hotpot Eatery Closed After New Clusters Emerged

With 120 cases and counting, the KTV-linked COVID-19 cluster has finally dethroned the previous holder of the “largest active cluster” title, the Bukit Merah View Market and Hawker Centre cluster, within just 3 days.

The Bukit Merah View only had a total of 94 cases linked to it.

But it is as if the rising number of positive cases, and the growing suspicion that there are many non-work pass holding foreigners working there, from the ballooning KTV lounge cluster isn’t enough – we’ve got a few more brand-new clusters now too.

Will these new fresh-faced contenders to the title defeat the KTV lounge cluster? We hope not!

New Growing Clusters Include Jurong Fishery Port, Hong Lim Market & Food Centre & a Hotpot Eatery

One cluster includes the Jurong Fishery Port and the Hong Lim Market and Food Centre, while the other involves Khoi Grill and Hotpot, a hotpot eatery located at 283 Jalan Besar.

A total of 7 positive cases were linked to these two clusters each.

As such, these locations will be closed for deep cleaning.

Contact tracing is underway as well.

The port and the food centre will be closed starting from today to 31 Jul while the hotpot eatery was closed yesterday with its reopening scheduled for 30 Jul.

Free COVID-19 Testing for Jurong Fishery Port & Hong Lim Market and Food Centre Visitors

Considering how fast the infection is spreading right now – no thanks to the Delta variant, the Ministry of Health (MOH) is scrambling to quickly discover any community cases before they spread further, spawning even more new clusters.

They have mandated that everyone who has visited Jurong Fishery Port between 3 Jul to 16 Jul needs to be tested for COVID-19.

Although not mandatory, free COVID-19 testing is also provided to people who have visited Hong Lim Market and Food Centre between 2 Jul to 16 Jul.

If you’re interested to get tested, be sure to drop by the MOH’s website and book an appointment.

Besides booking a slot for yourself, you can also book an appointment for a family member or a dependent.

Testing locations include the Fullerton Health Testing Centre, Raffles Hospital, Kingsway Medical Clinic, any designated regional screening centres, and any of the “Swab and Send Home” Public Health Preparedness Clinics (SASH PHPCs).

Note that you’ll need a separate booking for each person that needs testing.

You’ll also need to remember to bring along your photo ID, and declare the date and place that you have visited.
