There are various levels of salty in this world. One of them is french fries and another is potato chips.
But the saltiest of them all is this man who allegedly elbowed a woman in the face after she reacted negatively towards his advances.
Man Allegedly Elbowed & Dislocated Woman’s Jaw After She Rejects Him
Can’t handle rejection? Don’t go around and anyhowly approach girls who might turn you down then. But it looks like this guy didn’t get the memo.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested for voluntarily causing hurt. The victim only wanted to be identified as Ms Kylie.
Ms Kylie posted a video of the incident on Facebook on Saturday, showing a group of six men and women talking.
Without warning, the man is seen elbowing the woman, Ms Kylie in the face.
That escalated quickly.
Her Facebook post explained how the man had been disturbing the victim and her friend, which made them both feel uncomfortable.
“I told him politely to leave us alone and go away countless times. However, he refused to budge and instead elbowed my face out of the blue and dislocated my jaw.”
Thankfully, after the assault happened, other witnesses, as well as Ms Kylie’s friends, protected her, which can also be seen in the video.
According to TNP, Ms Kylie said:
“In that moment, I felt very powerless and defenceless.”
“From the moment I saw him at the bar, he kept coming over to me.”
“It was unfortunate that this happened to me, but hopefully it (will) bring some light to the topic (of assault) so no other women or men will be in my shoes in the future.”
The Aftermath
No one wants to be elbowed in the face, period.
However, Ms Kylie had the displeasure of being a victim of said violence, which landed her with a dislocated jaw.
As a result of the incident, she has had trouble sleeping and eating due to the throbbing pain.
At the end of the day, the conversation surrounding this incident should not be about how victims can protect themselves from random strangers attacking them.
Instead, the discussion should be about how potential attackers can be stopped from practising violent behaviour on others.
The Victim
Ms Kylie is a Singapore permanent resident who is currently studying abroad.
However, she is in Singapore to pay a visit to friends and family for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
She is currently a full-time student and a freelance make-up artist.
We would like to wish Ms Kylie a speedy recovery and hope that justice will be served and the appropriate punishment will be meted out.
