Do you know what’s more embarrassing than people seeing you throw stuff on the ground?
It’s throwing your stuff on the ground and getting it returned to you.
And realised that everything was recorded on film.
Now, before you think, is that a drama?
That happened recently. And the person returning the rubbish happens to be a super cute one-year-old.
So What Happened?
This little boy was walking on the streets of Jining city in eastern China’s Shandong Province when he spotted a man throwing an empty bottle out of his car.
He waddled forward and picked it up…
…then returned it to the driver.
Now, if it was someone older, maybe in their teens or older, the driver would’ve made a scene.
But it’s a 1-year-old so what can you do?
The driver reached out and took his litter back into the car.
According to the mother, the driver simply took the bottle back and closed his car window.
Mother Says Boy Was Trying To Be Helpful
Now, you’re thinking: wait, this 1-year-old kid is so smart, he knows that littering is wrong?!
Well, no, he doesn’t. At least not according to his mother.
The boy’s mother told Daily Mail that her kid was simply trying to be helpful.
“That day, he probably thought the bottle had fallen from the car by accident. He is a very uncomplicated child. If he sees other people drop stuff, he always helps to pick up,” she said.
“He is only one year and three months old and probably doesn’t have a strong sense of environmental protection, but his action taught the driver a lesson.”
She added that she likes to film her son while out on walks with him, which was how she managed to capture this moment.
Moral Of The Story
Don’t litter, guys. Because you don’t know when you’ll meet up with a 1YO like this who’d burn you.
Plus, we all know that Singapore is a fine city.
And the penalties for littering in Singapore is hefty:
I mean, compared to the prices shown on the table above, wouldn’t it make sense to have a trash bin in your vehicle where you can throw your stuff?
P/S: You can get a small pail at the market for about $2.
With that said, this kid’s going places, I tell you.
