It’s day 1,023 of the circuit breaker and residents are still not allowed to leave their homes for non-essential trips.
So you daobao your piping hot prata, knowing it’ll turn to a soggy mess once you get home. But on the way out of the hawker centre, you spot a familiar face.
Is that our Health Minister eating some Egg Prata just in front of the stall?
Now, of course, Minister Gan Kim Yong would never do such a thing, so it’s probably just a lookalike.
I mean, no health minister of any country would eat out during a lockdown, right?

M’sia Deputy Health Minister Charged for Flouting MCO As He Had Lunch in a Group at a School
Malaysia’s Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali and a state executive councillor from Perak pleaded guilty on Tuesday (28 Apr) to breaching the movement control order (MCO).
Both men were charged under Rule 6 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations and were fined RM1,000 (~S$325).
According to Free Malaysia Today, the regulation states that no one is allowed to gather within an infected local area whether for religious, sports, recreational, social, or cultural purposes.
So, what did they do? What outing was so important that the country’s deputy Health Minister was willing to breach the MCO?
Eating out.
The hungry duo was photographed sharing a meal with a group of people at a religious school in Lenggong, Perak, on 18 Apr.
Amusingly, the photos of the meal were actually uploaded to Noor Azmi’s own Facebook page, but were later deleted after it drew criticism.
That’s a bit like going to eat Bak Kut Teh while on a Stay-Home order and posting it on Faceboo- oh wait, someone actually did that.
The deputy health minister later apologised for the incident.
In response to the incident, the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, called on all leaders to fully comply with the MCO.

Back in March, Malaysian Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba drew criticism after he advised Malaysians to drink warm water because it will “flush” any virus down to the stomach, where digestive acids will kill it.
And he said this on national television, by the way.
Covid-19 Situation Improving
Despite their health ministers doing things health ministers shouldn’t be doing, Malaysia’s Covid-19 situation is slowly improving.
Yesterday (27 April 2020), they recorded 40 new infections, which is the second-lowest number of new cases this week.
They now have a total of 5,820 cases with 99 deaths.
Just like many other countries, it’s an encouraging sign that their lockdown is working.
So to contain the virus forever, we should be on lockdown forev-
