Previously, Mindef announced that all IPPT and RT sessions for NSmen are suspended.
And my fat colleague GY thought he has successfully siam-ed his IPPT requirement for this year.
If you catch no balls, then watch this video on the obligations we NSmen have to fulfil:
Now, moving on…
Unfortunately for him (and the rest of us who keeps going to CMPB to pay the fine), non-ICT IPPT / RT is now back in action.
You can now book for sessions from 1 Mar 2020 onwards.
Of course, if you’re worried about the Covid-19 situation, Mindef has assured us that they have implemented “enhanced” measures to keep the virus away.
Enhanced Measures
Said measures include pre-checks during arrival (measuring temperature and travel declaration), smaller groups and higher cleaning of FCCs and the equipment.
Though you’d know that temperature taking is already a measure even before the COVID-19 threat, though it’s to ensure that NSmen are healthy.
As for normal NSmen like you and me, we can do our part too:
- See a doctor if unwell
- Be punctual or if possible, come much earlier (for people who’ve not been going for the sessions, do note that you’d have to come 15 minutes earlier – and sessions usually start on time or even earlier)
- Be patient
- And help to keep the place clean
We Will Keep You Safe
MINDEF/SAF would like to assure NSmen that our health is of utmost importance.
That and they will continue to monitor and review their policies according to the situation.
For enquiries, and by that, I mean people who need extensions of their IPPT window, you can call the 24-hour NS Hotline at 1800-367-6767.
That or email [email protected]
Things Are Coming Back to Normal, Guys
The Covid-19 outbreak has severely impacted Singapore, whether it be morale, financial or Singaporeans’ behaviour.
But there’s been a series of good news for Singapore in the past week:
- The possibility of Covid-19 becoming like H1N1.
- Budget 2020 geared towards helping affected industries and individuals
- Medical staff now getting appreciated instead of being discriminated
And more.
So if you’re tired of the Covid-19 situation and worried about the consequences, just cheer up and who knows, this might just become a memory of the past shortly.
With that said, do keep yourself updated on the Covid-19 situation in Singapore by bookmarking MOH’s website.
That’s the place where you can get the most accurate information liao.
