PM Lee Suddenly Releases Videos In Different Languages to Update Us & Also Speaks as a Senior

I’m pretty sure some of us nearly had a heart attack when PM Lee suddenly released a video on his Facebook Page.

The last time he posted a video, our lives changed completely, and given that Malaysia has just extended their “lockdown” period, we expected the worst.

But thank God he’s there to encourage us.

PM Lee Suddenly Releases Videos In Different Languages to Update Us & Remain Us to Stay Home

Today, at about 5pm, PM Lee posted three videos in his Facebook Page.

In it, he updated us on why we needed to have the Circuit Breaker measures, and that the results of the Circuit Breaker might not surface that fast—we might need to wait for 11 days before we see any goody results.

This is the Chinese version because you’d need it to show it to your elderly parents:

And like those movies and dramas, the entire speech was made to encourage us to social distance—and of course, the old joke of asking us to write a letter to stay in contact with others.

However, most of the things he said were already reported yesterday; PM Lee had put on his pink shirt to speak directly to the seniors, because he mentioned that he himself is a senior (he’s 68 years old this year).

He, too, admitted that he had the desire to visit his grandchildren, but he, too, would stay in control because it’s the right thing to do. He had a message as an elderly to the elderly: stay at home, watch TV and exercise at home.

I wonder if Donald Trump would do the same thing.

He then said that he would be doing videos like this regularly, so as to speak directly to the citizens.

Netizens Applaud Our PM

Many people online have praised PM Lee for stepping up to speak to citizens directly.

And here’s a message that’s most important: “It only takes a few people to let down their guard and the virus will slip through.”

So stay at home, please.

And the Malay version:

And I believe there’s no Tamil version because he doesn’t know how to speak that language lah. I was actually hoping that he’d do a Hokkien or Cantonese version.
