Popular Bangkok Night Market Allegedly Going to Close Down Permanently

The imminent demolishment of their stalls.
And a bar owner has concurred with the rumours, stating that the night market will indeed be closing down on a permanent basis.
Apparently, the owner of the night market no longer has the means to finance the business, after the pandemic wreaked havoc on revenue garnered.
It should be mentioned, however, that the move has not been confirmed.
When Will We Know?
Last open in March and April, the night market was subsequently closed in May, June and July.
In a post on 22 June 2021, it was stated that the night market will reopen on 1 August 2021.
Should the night market be indeed facing imminent closure, we can expect to have a more solid answer by tomorrow, seeing how its stipulated reopening date is, well, tomorrow.
As such, one can still have their fingers crossed for more hopeful news, though the testimonies of stallholders have, admittedly, cast a dark shadow over us.
The Train Market
Also known as the Train Market in Bangkok, this open-air bazaar is separated into three sections – Warehouse Zone, Market Zone and Rod’s Antiques.
In the Warehouse Zone, there is a variety of products ranging from household goods to old electronic appliances and used auto parts.
In the Market Zone, there are more than 2,000 stalls selling trendy fashions and prices are low. Lastly, in Rod’s antique section, you will find a variety of antiques such as classic cars and motorbikes.
It is easy to find Rot Fai Market as it is located directly behind Cultural Centre MRT Underground Station.
If you’re taking a cab, you would want to consider taking the BTS Skytrain to On Nut Station before flagging a taxi there. Be reminded that traffic can be bad on Fridays and Saturdays.
