For residents of Block 745 Yishun Street 72, the situation must have been a harrowing one.
After all, it’s not every day that you get news of a pandemic cluster growing right beneath or above your feet:
A notion that the said residents would surely be able to relate to.
Several Covid-19 cases have been detected in block 745.
And after a period of turmoil and uncertainly, a consensus has been reached:
The residents of the affiliated block will now be required to go for swab tests on Tuesday and Wednesday (1 and 2 June 2021).
Residents Living in Block 745 Along Yishun St 72 Will All Be Tested for COVID-19 Due to Recent Infections in the Block
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency, Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, had posted an update on social media platform Facebook.
In a post, he shared that residents at Block 745 Yishun Street 72 will be required to undergo swab tests at the block’s void deck area.
The tests will be free, and will take place from 1 June to 2 June 2021.
An informative leaflet will supposedly be placed by residential doors in the block.
The MP also stated that he will be working “with the relevant agencies and residents to help facilitate the Swabbing Exercise to keep our residents and their loved ones safe”.
The common areas at Block 745 as well as the nearby blocks have also been cleansed and disinfected.
As for those who’re unwell, they should seek medical advice immediately.
“To the rest of you,” he wrote. “Please stay safe and take care!”

For the record, those who live in surrounding blocks do not need to be tested unless they had previously visited Block 745 between 15 and 24 May 2021.
Not The First Block
On 21 and 22 May 2021, some 405 residents and visitors of Block 506 Hougang Avenue 8 were subjected to swab tests after 11 Covid-19 cases were found.
And on 24 May, 304 residents at Block 559 Pasir Ris Street 51 were tested after four Covid-19 cases were unveiled.
In the case of the Hougang incident, the compulsory testing exercise had weeded out two Covid-19 cases.
And lest you’re not aware, this will be a new normal, so this means that you might still be tested even if you’ve stayed home 24 hours a day for 365 days a year.
