Remember this lady?
The 40-year-old Singaporean is now being investigated by the police.
The police said they were alerted to the incident on 3 May at 320 Shunfu Road at around noon.
According to the MP of the area, she was swiftly “apprehended” on the spot.
Not only had she refused to wear a mask when outside, but she has also allegedly assaulted a 47-year-old woman who reminded her to don one.
They also said that they take “a serious view of such abusive and irresponsible behaviour, especially in the current COVID-19 situation”.
So every Singaporean should “take the circuit breaker measures seriously and comply with the safe distancing measures”.
Two Videos Circulating Online
On 3 May 2020, the peaceful atmosphere of Shunfu market was broken by a shouting match between two ladies.
A woman wearing a purple top was unhappy that someone dared to tell her to follow the rules and put on a mask so she started a shouting match with the stranger:
Auntie: Wait for the police to come…(continues shouting like an English teacher)
Barney: You don’t tell me what to do
Auntie: In the first place, you’re wrong to point me (shows middle finger) when you say you’re Singaporean
Barney: You should mind your own business and not—
Auntie: This is our country—
Barney: You should not have been shouting at me
Auntie: I didn’t shout at you. I just said you should wear a mask
The video cut off shortly after but there’s a part two.
Barney: …actually read the law
Human #1: No, I read the law
Barney: (to another person off-screen) I’ll show you the video that’s happening here! Same thing! Trying to stop me! And then walk off. Without warning, without fine. I am sovereign! I am a sovereign.
Barney: (inaudible) They don’t understand what a sovereign is. It means I have nothing to do with the police, I’ve no contract with the police (inaudible)
Person with Slang: That doesn’t even make any sense! If you’re a person in Singapore, you’ve to follow the rules in Singapore!
Barney: Now that’s the thing; I’m not a person
Person with Slang: You’re not a person?

Barney: I’m (inaudible) the person
P/S: if you’re interested in what being a “sovereign” means, we’ve done the research which you can read here.
MP: This Kind of Behavior Will Not Be Tolerated
MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh Group Representation Constituency (GRC) Chong Kee Hiong took to Facebook to slam the actions of a person who “defiantly refused to don a mask at Shunfu Market this afternoon”, and even a person with a brain of Barney can connect the dots and know which incident he’s referring to even when it was not explicitly mentioned.
In the post, he said that the person is a repeat offender, which most probably means it could be the same fellow here:
Truly a savage Sovereign.

In the previous offence, she was merely fined.
He then added that the police officers had “swiftly” apprehended the offender on the spot, though it could be for other reasons like being a public nuisance or looking too much like Barney.
