There’s a New Cat Place for You to Play With Rescued Cats for $15/hr; Adoption Options also Available

Are you a cat lover?

Do you fancy adopting a cat as your own?

There are many pets’ adoption drives and adoption centres in Singapore, and if you’re looking for a specific pedigree, there are always breeders that can be found elsewhere.

With regards to former options, visitors can usually drop by to check out the pets in their cages before deciding on which one they might like to adopt.

However, for varying reasons—perhaps because the animal is injured, timid, or prone to aggression—physical interaction is typically limited through railings.

More often than not, it also means that it’s hard to get a good gauge of the animal’s personality, and if it suits the owner’s preference.

Cat Paradise in Jalan Besar

Having said that, Cat Paradise has decided to set up a cageless adoption centre concept, where the rescued cats and kittens are allowed to roam freely in the given space, and prospective owners will get a chance to visit and interact with these cute animals.

If you’re just a cat lover and not looking for commitment, that’s fine too, because you still play and interact with the cats at $15 per hour.

It’s a win-win situation: you get to play with these loveable creatures while supporting the establishment itself.

Being able to get up close and personal with these cats can let prospective owners get to know all the rescue cats better.

And since the cats are in an open and comfortable space which they claim as their own territory, they are more likely to show their real personalities, and show their true degree of comfort with whoever that approaches.

Maybe you’re lucky and you find the cat that just clicks with you. Perhaps both you and the cat need more time to deliberate whether the entire owner-pet relationship will be a good fit.

Regardless, you have all the time in the world.

There are also All-Day Passes on weekdays going at $30.

The re-housed rescue cats in Cat Paradise are provided by its partner, Project Luni.

Feel free to donate to the non-profit organisation as all proceeds will further assist them in their mission in saving stray cats.

Rules to Follow

Of course, since the whole point of the set-up puts the cats’ comfort at the forefront, there are a few simple rules to follow.

If you’ve ever been to a cat café, you’ll find that they’re very similar.

  1. Be gentle with the cats, do not chase them.
  2. Do not scream or shout in the premises.
  3. If the cats are sleeping, you may gently pat them.
  4. No flash photography is allowed.
  5. Do not try to carry them as they might scratch you.
  6. Do not block their way.
  7. Do not disturb the cats in the resting area at all times.
  8. Do not bring or use any personal items to play with them.

With regards to points 2, 3, 5, and 6, it’s obviously at your own peril if you find yourself at the receiving end of hisses, teeth, or claws.

These rules are in place to ensure the cats’ continued well-being, so they can live out their days in peace.

On Cat Paradise and Project Luni’s end, you can interact with the cats with the peace of knowledge that all the free-roaming cats have a clean bill of health and are sterilised.

Should you decide to adopt a furbaby, all you need to do is pick up the necessary supplies and kit out your own home for the new addition to your household.
