Indian Company Will Pay You Almost S$2,000 To Sleep For 9 Hours A Day
They say sleep is for the weak, but if this is true, then I’ll happily be the biggest weakling in the world.
According to India Today, a company based in Bangalore, India, is offering an incredible Rs 1 lakh (S$1,900) for interns to sleep for 9 hours for 100 days.
Wakefit Innovations Pvt. Ltd is offering a “sleep internship” where they will monitor the sleeping patterns of applicants for research.
Focus on sleeping health
Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, the director and co-founder of Wakefit, told Business Insider that this unique internship is an attempt to bring back focus on sleeping health.
It “is another step towards making sleep an integral part of maintaining a work-life balance in our lives”.
So what do you have to do in this internship?
Well, sleep.
Monitored at Home
Interns will be expected to sleep on the company-provided mattress for 9 hours for 100 days and 7 nights a week at home.
This means that you don’t even have to leave your house. You just have to sleep at home throughout the day and your sleeping pattern will be monitored using a sleep tracker before and after using the mattress.
There is only one condition: you cannot use your laptop during work/sleep hours.
Selected interns will receive their 1 lakh (S$1,900) upon completion of the 100-day internship.
The only skill the company asks for is an “unmatched zeal for breaking your own sleep records, a mastery over this fine art, and of course, your favourite pajamas!”
So tough.
