You’ve probably heard it everywhere: it’s going to be hot, hot and hot in the next two weeks.
However, a day after the weatherman announced that forecast that’s as predictable as a politician’s speech, we woke up to heavy rain this morning (18 June).
Well, enjoy while it lasts, because today might just be the calm before the storm.
And the storm isn’t, literally, the storm.
It’s the hot weather.
This Morning’s Rain Might be the Calm Before a Storm
In case you didn’t know, it started raining at about 7am to 8am this morning.
Shortly after that, the rain persisted, and temperature dropped to a “freezing” 21.4°C at Newton. That’s much cooler than our air-con setting.
According to Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS), the highest temperature recorded this morning is only at 30.4°C.
The rain will also, most probably, last until this evening.
Sounds good…until you see the forecast for the next four days.
Yes, we’re looking at 34°C days, not 30.4°C days in the next four days.
In some places, we might hit 35°C.
So enjoy this calm while it lasts.
