Every NDP, we held our breath to look for a winner.
Sometimes, we’ve someone like her:
And in one year, we have him:
In a live show, there are bound to be certain things that went too right, or too wrong.
Yesterday’s NDP went mostly right, except for one tiny little blooper that you’ve probably missed.
This Year’s NDP Blooper is a Flag That Disappears Into Thin Air
Watch this video once and tell me if you spot anything wrong:
Nothing? Now, watch it again, this time between 0:09 to 0:11, and focus on the boy in red behind the reporter.
The flag on his right hand disappeared.
The boy’s impromptu magic show was so convincing that even he himself was shocked.
But jokes aside, most people were impressed with yesterday’s postponed NDP.
An Uneventful Belated NDP 2021
For the first time in the nation’s history, an NDP is held two weeks after our independence day, all thanks to COVID-19.
The theme of the parade is “Together, Our Singapore Spirit”, and despite having merely 1,000 spectators, all of them invited COVID-19 frontliners, it still felt like any year’s NDP.
However, COVID-19 could still be felt in almost every angle, with the painfully obvious empty seats, the President not talking to anyone during her inspection and the masks everywhere.
And lest you’ve not watched it and wondered if anyone danced exaggeratedly when this year’s NDP song, “The Road Ahead”, was sung, the answer is a resounding no: it was beautifully sung with a nice dance.
You can watch the entire NDP here:
