On 29 June 2023, a Chinese tourist was crossing Geylang Road when he was hit by a car.
According to news reports, he was here in Singapore on holiday.

Chinese Tourist Died on First Day of Visit in Singapore After Getting Hit By Car on Geylang Road
46-year-old Mr Liang Guishou was from Nanning, Guangxi and worked as a manager in an energy company.
He was part of a tour group which arrived in Singapore on 29 June 2023 for holiday.
Close to midnight on their first day of arrival, Mr Liang was crossing Geylang Road when he was hit by a car.
A 9-second video that was reportedly filmed at the accident scene showed a man lying in the middle of the road with a pair of slipper beside him.
A black car with a cracked windscreen and dented bonnet could also be seen a few metres away from the man.
A 54-year-old driver was arrested and is currently being investigated for careless driving causing death.
Mr Liang was conveyed to the hospital in an unconscious state where he passed away thereafter.
Could Have Left Hotel For Supper
According to the tour guide, Ms Mo Xiaofang, the group had dispersed and returned to their rooms at around 10pm.
Mr Liang may have left the hotel for supper, she said.
She called Mr Liang’s phone the next morning after realising he was missing.
It was then that she knew what happened.
A doctor picked up her call and told her that Mr Liang had passed away.
The family was notified immediately.
Mr Liang’s wife, Madam Huang Xuefeng, their 14-year-old son and other relatives arrived in Singapore on 6 July 2023.
Describing Mr Liang as a loyal friend, she told reporters that 11 friends went to their home to comfort their son.
They had also raised S$3,360 for the family to bring Mr Liang’s ashes back to China.
Mr Liang was cremated at Mandai Crematorium on Sunday, 9 July 2023.
Madam Huang had borrowed money from friends and family members to make the trip.
The travel expenses to Singapore was covered by the travel agency.
Madam Huang is heartbroken that her son had lost his father at such a young age.
She will wait to see the results of the investigation, she added.
