Medical experts all over the world are so busy dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak that they’ve missed another pandemic sweeping the world.
Some say it’s linked to the coronavirus, while others are not so sure. Either way, it is definitely getting out of control.
You see, ever since the Covid-19 virus started spreading, people who weren’t even infected with the disease started losing control of their mouths, involuntarily spitting on everything around them, including lift buttons and other people.
Some scientists are calling this novel virus the Spitovirus (by scientists I mean me). It usually infects teenagers here in Singapore.
And, unfortunately, the Spitovirus seems to have spread to Thailand.
Chinese Woman Repeatedly Spat in a Bus in Thailand; Even Spat at Officials Who Arrested Her
A Chinese woman was arrested on Thursday (19 March) by officials after she was allegedly found spitting repeatedly while on public transportation.
According to The Nation, she first started spitting inside a bus that she took from Bangkok to Saraburi.
The woman reportedly wandered around in the bus to spit at different spots, which caused concern among other passengers amidst the Covid-19 outbreak.
Even if there wasn’t a deadly disease spreading across the world, I’d still be a little alarmed if one of the passengers on my bus started spitting around the bus for no apparent reason.
Now, she spat at different locations, so it’s not that she just had a huge wad of phlegm and had no tissue paper with her, she deliberately did it knowing it would scare her fellow passengers.
When the bus finally arrived at the terminal, Public Health officials tried to take her away to test for Covid-19 but she refused to comply, saying that she would stay for only a few days and walked away.
But spitting on a bus and defying the authorities wasn’t enough for her.
You see, she had a really severe case of the Spitovirus.
Spat on Officials as Well
The woman was later spotted on a train to Bangkok, and this time the officials decided to arrest her.
But the woman resisted and tried to spit on the officials. They pushed her to the ground and closed her mouth.
The woman was quarantined yesterday night and was sent to be tested for Covid-19 at Siriraj Hospital in the morning.
Thankfully, she later tested negative for the virus.
Spitovirus infections all over the world
You may have heard of several Spitovirus cases in our own country.
One involved three teenage boys who spat on lift buttons at Rumbia LRT Station at Sengkang.
Another group of teenagers was recently caught spitting from the fourth floor of a shopping mall.
No one knows where exactly this Spitovirus originated, but some say it started spreading among uncles in coffee shops.
Fortunately, the Spitovirus only seems to affects assholes, so if you’re a nice person, don’t worry, you’re immune to this disgusting disease.
