Yes, it’s the eve of National Canberra Day!

Held in a pre-celebration of sorts for the grand opening of Canberra MRT station on 2 November, this event allows people islandwide to revel in the novelty of new MRT stations as well as a local implementation of the capital of Australia.

And to make it all the more sweeter, it’s Friday so you can party all night!

National Canberra Day, everybody!

Note: It’s not a real celebration, and there’s certainly no public holiday on the following Monday. The opening of Canberra MRT station is true though.

Everything You Need To Know About Canberra MRT Station Opening Tomorrow (2 Nov)

Lest there’s some national disaster or really bad haze that renders people immobile, Canberra MRT station’s scheduled to open tomorrow (2 November).

The new station, that’s nestled in between Yishun and Sembawang, will be within a 10-minute walk of either MRT station.

It’s the second station to be built on an existing track, the first being Dover MRT station on the East-West Line (EWL) back in 2001.

Incidentally, the news was publicised nearly one month ago, by the Land Transport Authority.

The missing piece ? in the North-South Line #NSL is finally coming into place! Situated between Sembawang (NS11) and Yishun (NS13), Canberra station (NS12) will open on 2 Nov 2019. Soon, it’ll be “running” (the numbers, of course) and we can all look forward to added convenience and shorter journeys! ? #CanberraOpening

Reduce Travelling Time By Up To 10 Minutes

For those experiencing real travelling difficulty to the city or Jurong East, you’ll be glad to know that Canberra MRT station potentially reduces travelling time to both areas by up to 10 minutes.

According to sources, both Jurong East and Orchard will be 10 stops away.

Additionally, Canberra MRT station will also boast the following amenities:

  • Five entrances. So that it’s even easier for you to get lost. Jk, this will make entering and exiting way more convenient.
  • 500 bicycle parking lots. For all the bike riders out there.
  • Sheltered walkways to bus stops. Begone thot. I mean, rain.
  • A link bridge. To connect your hopes to your dreams. Jk, this one’s a practical one.
