Get Ready For The All-New Noise-Cancelling Apple AirPods Pro

When Apple first released the AirPods, everyone commented about how ugly they looked and how it was so weird to see those two little things stick out of someone’s ears without any wires connected to them.

Some people even made jokes about how they were too poor to get these overpriced wireless earphones and opted to snip off their wires from their existing earphones instead.

But later on, more people started buying AirPods and talked about how they were really convenient.

Damn it Apple, you’ve done it again with your marketing tactics.

For real though, even I thought it was overpriced and weird initially, but I eventually conformed to society.

But we’ve all been accustomed to Apple’s earphones and how they’re only noise-reducing and not noise-cancelling, as in, we can still hear our surroundings when we put those earphones on unless we turn up the volume of our music.

Of course, there were many people who did complain that noise-cancelling would have been so much better because turning up the volume of your music with noise-reducing earphones also lets people around you hear what you’re listening to.

So Apple has finally heard us and taken our feedback into consideration because they’re introducing…

The New AirPods Pro

The all-new AirPods Pro features a similar set of wireless earbuds but with silicone tips and noise-cancelling software. There’s also an ultra-compact charging case that comes with it.

But you probably would have noticed that the white stalks of the AirPods seem shorter than the traditional AirPods that we are so used to. Similarly, the case also seems shorter as compared to the current Airpods case.

The new earbuds have a pair of microphones on each unit to detect noise from the surroundings and they use the speakers to then counter this noise with an inverse soundwave before it reaches the wearer’s eardrums.

This will allow wearers to listen to their music at much lower volumes than when using the normal Airpods.

The AirPods Pro also features a “Transparency Mode” in which the sounds from the surroundings can be heard. The outward- and inward-facing microphones on the earbuds allow the AirPods Pro to “undo the sound-isolating effect of the silicone tips so things sound and feel natural”.

The AirPods Pro has up to five hours of playback time, with 4.5 hours being used with noise-cancelling active. The case can also provide 18 hours of charging so that you won’t have to worry about your AirPods Pro running out of battery when you’re on the go.

They also support “Hey Siri” and Siri can even announce incoming messages over the earbuds so that you can get a totally hands-free experience.

Pricing

So with all that said… how much is it?

You probably would have known that the previous generations of AirPods certainly didn’t come cheap. They are being retailed at $239 for the AirPods with a standard charging case and $299 for the wireless charging case.

So obviously, the new AirPods Pro would be much more than that considering the fact that it offers noise-cancellation.

And you are right.

It will be retailed at a whopping price of $379.

You can buy two low-end smartphones with that price.

They will start shipping on 30 October so if you would like to order yours, you can do so on their official website tomorrow. Buying it online would also entitle you to free engraving and you can pick it up once it’s done or arrange for a delivery right to your doorstep.

There is also a limit of two per customer so do take note of that.

So if you have $379 to spare, you can choose to spend it on the new AirPods Pro. Alternatively, you can use the money to go on a holiday or just save it. It might be more worth it.
