With Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Viu part of our daily lives now, does anyone still watch Running Man and look forward to seeing Lee Kwang Soo making a fool of himself on screen?
Reader Bao: Me. I watch—
Okay, then you’re going to be a tad disappointed because the Giraffe is going to be out of Running Man for a while.
Reader Bao: Holy Lee! Is he doing a Gary?
No, Mr Bao. Do yourself a favour and read the headline before coming in.
Lee Kwang Soo Taking a Break from Running Man After Car Accident
In an unofficial poll on Hardwarezone forums, Lee Kwang Soo is the third most well-liked Running Man member in show, losing only to popular host Yoo Jae Suk and the forever-beautiful Song Ji-hyo, who still looks amazing at 38 years old.
The “unlucky” tall guy isn’t so unlucky in real life: other than finding a pretty girlfriend from the variety show, he’s been extremely prolific in his acting career. And even before Netflix came to Singapore with multiple Korean shows, he’s already garnered a base of fans right here in our tiny island, when he was crowned the title of “Prince of Asia”.
The 35-year-old, who used to be the youngest member until Jeon So-min and Yang Se-chan joined the cast as regulars in 2017, has numerous nicknames, from God of Variety to Kwangvatar.
Unfortunately, you’re not going to see him in Running Man soon.
Last weekend, on 15 February 2020, the actor / host / comedian was involved in a traffic accident. He injured his ankle and that required a surgery. The surgery was scheduled for yesterday (18 February 2020).
It just happened that there was a filming of a Running Man episode that day, and he had already skipped one episode.

Alas, it turns out that he’s going to miss more episodes.
And today, his agency released a statement:
Hello. This is King Kong by Starship.
On the afternoon of February 15 (Saturday), Lee Kwang Soo, who was going somewhere in his car as part of his personal schedule, was hit by a car violating traffic signals.
After receiving a detailed examination at a hospital close by, he was diagnosed with a fracture in his right ankle. Lee Kwang Soo is currently taking steps to be hospitalized and is receiving treatment.
As a result, he will not be able to take part in his scheduled activities, and we ask for your understanding. We will be monitoring his progress, and he will focus on receiving treatment for his recovery.
I don’t know about you, but it’s only moments like this that we realised that the Running Man members have been working tirelessly every week for almost ten years: and remember, all of them have many other commitments outside of the variety show.
According to an interview, Haha mentioned that all Running Man members have suffered slipped disks due to the hectic filming schedule and physical demand of the show. Despite the need for rehabilitation treatment, the members couldn’t find the time to do so.
Let’s hope Lee Kwang Soo will recover soon so that Mr Bao would have something to look forward to weekly!
Reader Bao: I think you got it wrong. The Running Man I watch is from China. Angelababy is bae.
Oh. You’re really missing out.
