The Situation In Thailand

On Sunday, Thailand reported 102 new coronavirus cases and three deaths.

In total, Thailand has 2,169 confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

Twenty-three people have died in Thailand since the outbreak first emerged in January.

On Friday, police and soldiers set up hundreds of checkpoints across Thailand to enforce an indefinite nationwide curfew.

This effectively barred outsiders from entering in order to prevent further spread of the COVID-19.

However, those transporting medical supplies and health workers travelling to and from work are exempted from this curfew.

The authorities revealed that a total of 421 checkpoints would be set up all over the country.

There’s a reason why Thailand has resorted to strict measures as of late.

Since last month, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Thailand has surged from a few dozen to a whopping number of over 2,000. Thus, the government scrambled to impose stricter social isolation measures.

It’s definitely a trying time for everyone, but it’s so important to practice social responsibility and to be mindful of others and not repeat such behaviour if you are ill. Stay safe everyone.
