No Plans to Cancel ICT & IPPT Due to Covid-19; More Area Cleaning for Recruits

Do you have a paid chalet ICT coming up soon?

Don’t worry; continue to stock up on the snacks you’re going to bring in to your camp, because according to Senior Minister of State for Defence Heng Chee How, ICT won’t be cancelled.

For people who’ve no idea what I’m talking about, you might want to watch this video we’ve done about NS in Singapore before reading on:

No Plans to Cancel ICT & IPPT Due to nCoV; More Area Cleaning for Recruits

According to Mr Heng, “We have to go back to the mission of the SAF and the defence of this country. We have to defend this country whether or not there is a virus situation… That said, we must understand that when there is such a situation, we must take the necessary steps to safeguard the health of our soldiers.

“This is exactly what we are doing – to make sure that both are top priorities.”

Reader Bao: That means still got outfield lah? I thought now go back ICT just do chemical defence seh…

Yeah, Mr Bao. There’s not much change.

In fact, even IPPT will still go on, so please don’t think of using this as an excuse to siam your IPPT or RT.

However, if you’re sick, please do everyone a favour and stay at home. Mr Heng added, “If they are sick, then they should let it be known so that we can then ask them not to undertake IPPT, (or) it can be rescheduled so that in the meantime you can seek treatment.”

Anyway, that shouldn’t be an issue since everyone has to go through a temperature check before IPPT or RT even before the nCoV outbreak.

So, how about those chao recruits in BMTC?

Ah, that’s a tad different.

BMTC Slight Changes

There are now 5,000 lowest forms of human beings recruits in BMTC now, and enhanced measures have been implemented since the DORSCON level turned Orange.

For a start, there would be staggered meal times and book-in / book-out timings.

It turns out that in every meal period, more than four companies can eat at the same time. Now, it’ll be a maximum of two companies.

You lucky recruits. You’ve no idea how bad it was when we have twenty minutes to makan and fifteen minutes are spent on queuing.

Non-essential social activities like recruits’ evening and external talks have also been deferred.

*Cue recruits’ cries*

During the next POP parade and enlistment intake, they might also reduce the number of visitors.

But here’s the bad-est news for all recruits:

They’ll be provided with strong disinfectants and told to clean their bunks more frequently.

That sounds fine to everyone but to recruits, that’s the worst thing they’ve ever heard.

Because that means more area cleaning.

Good luck, Toilet ICs and Corridor ICs.
