Animal cruelty has been lambasted for as long as I can remember, and yet dastardly acts of such nature continue to be committed around the entire world. Truly…
It’s nothing short of an abomination.
And lest you haven’t caught on, this article’s a semblance of the aforementioned notion, a piece to exemplify the terrible animal cruelty that’s going on in the world right now. And so, before I proceed, I feel it pertinent to warn you;
The following write-up may prove heart-wrenching and perhaps even agitating at some parts. Viewer discretion is thus advised.
Photographer Broke Lion Kitten’s Legs So That It Won’t Resist Taking Images with Tourists
According to 8World, a photographer in Russia broke the legs of a Lion cub to force it to take photos with tourists “obediently”, and to ensure that it does not escape when it grows up.
After the incident came to light, a rescue mission was launched and an investigation on the orders of Russian President Putin commenced.
Apparently, Simba was hunted last summer and had to leave his mother less than a few weeks after being born. In a bid to make money, the photographer intentionally broke its leg to ensure its obedience in taking photos with tourists.

Starved & Tortured
The lion cub was also allegedly “tortured and beaten” by the caregiver, and his spine was seriously injured in the process. Forced into a precarious state, it was hurled into a dirty and cold granary, unable to move.
According to videos circulating on the Internet, Simba had trouble walking with his broken legs. In order for a healing operation to commence, the hair on its lower body had to be shaved, and the injured feet had to be covered with blue-coloured medicine.
Yulia Ageeva, who was in charge of the rescue mission, said that Simba was barely fed during his ‘imprisonment’ period and that it was constantly splashed with ice water.
“This is the real hell,” she said.
Recovery
Thankfully, it seems that the operation was successful. According to a veterinarian who operated on Simba, Karen Dallakyan, the lion cub can now walk, despite formerly having deformed feet.
Karen has since conveyed the issue to Russian President Vladimir Putin via a video conference held by ecologists, emphasizing that they have not seen any criminal investigations into the matter.
When contacted, Putin stated that he would investigate the issue, and enforce the necessary legal measures against those involved in the malicious act.
Take care, Simba, and we wish you a speedy recovery!
